Sunbeam

Went over to Banbury last week to shoot a few classic cars which had gathered as part of an event for the Historique Rally Monte Carlo which was passing through Banbury.

Although the weather wasn’t the greatest, shooting colour film (Kodak Ultramax 400) gave me some really nice tones and images.

This beautiful Sunbeam caught my eye, probably as I like red cars!

Classic Americana

I always think classic American cars look great when you see them in the UK. Their presence is undiminished and their size always makes them a crowd puller.

Easy to see why with this beautiful example of a Dodge isn’t it?!

Porsche 912

Produced from 1965 through to 1969 model, the 912 is an entry-level variant of the 911 and quite possibly my favourite 911 derivative.

Lotus Sunbeam

One of my all time favourite cars, the Lotus Talbot Sunbeam was the car of my dreams when I was just a kid and seeing one last year at a meeting at Bicester Heritage transported me back to those days.

I should have taken a few more photographs of it or sought out the owner for a chinwag about it, but I didn’t. Hopefully I’ll see it another time sometime soon.

Lotus Cortina

Classic car action with this beautiful Lotus Cortina. It could almost be the 1960’s couldn’t it, particularly somewhere as atmospheric as Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb is.

Alvis Classic.

Classic Alvis looks. There’s little better in my humble opinion.

Dart Stinger

Quite a rare sight on UK roads, big American muscle cars. This looked pretty sweet and of course being a muscle car sounded pretty good too!

Ford Mustang

I really like this Ford Mustang photograph captured at Bicester Heritage sometime last year. The low angle helps to accentuate the aggressive stance of the car and of course, the Ford Mustang is a classic.
